About Us
Miller Goodall was established in 2004 by Joanne Miller and Lesley Goodall, both of whom have vast experience in the field of environmental protection.
The company now employs six staff in total. Our consultants can provide specialist advice in the following areas:
- noise assessments for residential, retail, lesiure, educational and industrial developments for planning purposes
- acoustic design of schools, healthcare facilities, commercial buildings, hotels and residential developments
- sound insulation detailing and testing to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations Approved Document E
- noise at work assessments
- inspections under the Pollution Prevention and Control Act 1999 (PPC)
- training on noise, air quality and pollution, prevention and control
Our client base includes contractors, architects, educational establishments, healthcare providers and local authorities.
Meet The Team

Joanne Miller
Since qualifying as an EHO in 1990, Jo has specialised in environmental protection and has an MBA and a Masters in Acoustics. Her role covers all consultancy activities with a particular interest in acoustics. Jo is a registered sound insulation tester under the Association of Noise Consultants, and a member of its membership steering group. She is also a member of the Institute of Acoustics and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.

Simon Faircloth
Simon is an Acoustic Consultant. He studied at Manchester Metropolitan and Salford Universities and has a wide range of experience within the field of architectural and building acoustics. He has worked on a number of large projects including schools and healthcare facilities.
Simon is a member of the Institute of Acoustics and is a registered sound insulation tester under the Association of Noise Consultants' scheme.

Karen Melhuish
Karen joined Miller Goodall Environmental Services in June 2010 and jointly manages the office with Bayla. Karen will often be the first point of contact for clients and provides excellent support to the team.
Lesley Goodall
Lesley qualified as an EHO in 1990 and holds a postgraduate Diploma in Acoustics and a Masters in Environmental Protection. Lesley's role within the company encompasses all business areas but she has a specific interest in planning and industrial pollution control. She is a member of the Institute of Acoustics and the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health and is a registered sound insulation tester under the Association of Noise Consultants Scheme.

Stephen Maslivec
Stephen is a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a Diploma in Acoustics and has specialised in Environmental Protection for more than 20 years. His role includes planning and industrial pollution control. Stephen has considerable experience of planning issues, particularly in relation to noise and air quality, and he has given evidence at a number of planning appeals.

Bayla Burkath
Bayla joined Miller Goodall Environmental Services in June 2010 and shares the role of office manager, working closely with Karen.
